What Scientologists believe about extraterrestrial life and souls?

Scientists have long believed that alien life can be found someplace in the cosmos, but a recent NASA idea suggests the exact opposite.

The hypothesis contends that although extraterrestrial life may have existed in the past, enormous cataclysmic events like climate change may have already wiped it out before it had a chance to interact with humans.

For many years, the most important aspect of our cosmos exploration has been the hunt for extraterrestrial life. 

In addition, despite their best efforts, scientists have had little success in discovering any planets that might really disprove the claims that extraterrestrial life exists among the stars. 

As a result, it's likely that any alien life we might come across has already gone extinct—at least, that's what some scientists think.

The Fermi Paradox, a venerable hypothesis, provides the foundation of the conviction. In essence, this paradox asserts that intelligent extraterrestrial life should be widespread and detectable—something on which scientists have long since reached a consensus. 

However, we haven't discovered any solid proof that extraterrestrial life isn't extinct, which could actually provide a resolution to the Fermi Paradox.

Given all the worlds and systems we've seen, the Fermi Paradox predicts that there must be observable alien life somewhere in the universe. However, nothing has been found. 

Consequently, this must imply that extraterrestrial life has vanished, right? Therefore, the "Great Filter" idea postulates that all sentient life exterminates itself before it can interact with other intelligent species, which might account for the observed cosmic quiet.

But what precisely would destroy many extraterrestrial civilizations? What would cause extraterrestrial life to become extinct throughout the universe? Well, it may very well be the climate catastrophe, a problem that affects us as people on a daily basis. Scientists believe that the threat posed by climate change is extremely serious, and many are working to find solutions.

Finding a solution, however, is not as simple as it sounds. Because comparable issues may have arisen during the creation and expansion of civilizations on other worlds, it is likely that climate change may have played a major role in the extermination of alien species throughout the cosmos. Of course, since it is only a hypothesis, the theory has not yet undergone peer review. But you do start to stray.
